The story behind the icon
The station icon is the silhouette of a kangaroo.
The station is located in the Pensador Mexicano neighbourhood, near Avenida Río Consulado and Avenida Oceanía, and belongs to the borough of Venustiano Carranza. Within the neighbourhood are the facilities of the Oceanía sports centre.
Oceania is one of the five continents of the world, made up of Australia and various island groups of the South Pacific; its representative symbol is the kangaroo, a figure that has been placed on that country's national coat of arms.
The most recent geographical division arranges this part of the world into four large zones: Australasia, which holds Australia and New Zealand; Melanesia, which takes in New Caledonia and the New Hebrides, the Solomon Islands and some others, from New Guinea to Fiji; Micronesia, which comprises archipelagos such as the Carolines, the Marianas, the Marshalls and the Gilberts; and Polynesia, where Hawaii, Tahiti, Samoa, Tonga, the Marquesas, Tubuai, Cook, Tuamotu, Ellice and Easter Island lie.
