The sports centre was inaugurated on 15 November 1964.

It is open from 7:00 to 22:00, and among the activities taught are karate, tae kwon do, lima lama, fencing, aerobics, English classes, a chess club, athletics, football, basketball and volleyball. The cost of the classes ranges from $26.00 to $40.00, depending on the activity. The minimum age to begin activities is six years and up.
