The story behind the icon

The station takes its name from the Metro station on Avenida Ferrocarril Hidalgo.

Martín Carrera was a Mexican soldier and politician, interim president of the country in 1855, having previously been a divisional general.

During his office he separated the political and military commands and allowed freedom of the press. The icon represents the bust of Martín Carrera, the same as that of the Metro station.
