The story behind the icon
The station icon represents two flags of the navigation warnings that the Aztecs placed in Lake Texcoco.
Pantitlán is a Nahuatl word meaning between flags.
In the time of the Aztecs that place was part of Lake Texcoco. There was a sinkhole where the whirlpools came with such force that they carried off the canoes. For that reason they fenced off the place, putting up two posts and, as a warning to navigators, the flags.
