The story behind the icon

The station icon represents ears of wheat. It is one of the large neighbourhoods in the east of Mexico City, in the borough of Iztacalco. Its creation is a product of the urban growth of the last 30 years, and it borders the Magdalena Mixiuhca sports complex and the Pantitlán, Granjas México and Leyes de Reforma neighbourhoods, among others.

Five street markets are set up here in various streets of the neighbourhood, along with a mobile market, two commercial areas, the Leandro Valle sports centre, a great concentration of shops and industries, three housing estates (Real del Moral, Sur 20 Infonavit and Sur 12C Fovissste), as well as some important thoroughfares such as Río Churubusco, Ignacio Zaragoza, Canal de San Juan, Ferrocarril de Río Frío, Canal de Tezontle, Javier Rojo Gómez and Oriente 253
