The story behind the icon
It stands at the north-eastern end of the Pantitlán transfer centre and takes its name from the nearby Pantitlán neighbourhood, which in turn is so called because in the time of the Aztecs a series of flags was set up in this area to mark whirlpools dangerous to the canoes; Pantitlán is a Nahuatl word meaning between flags. Its symbol represents two flags, the same symbol as the Metro station of the same name.
