The story behind the icon
The station takes its name from the fact that it stands on the Calzada San Juan de Aragón.
The present neighbourhood of San Juan de Aragón passed from the Tepanecs of Azcapotzalco to the Tlatelolcas, who later rented their lands to Blas López de Aragón, who established the Hacienda de Santa Anna, giving the area a stock-raising and farming character. Around 1846 the hacienda was divided and repaired; San Juan de Aragón as it is known today was developed over the course of the 20s, while the river was being drained. The station icon represents the arches of a hacienda, that of Santa Anna Aragón.
