The story behind the icon
It refers to its nearness to the Metro, and the icon is the same. The causeway was built in colonial times as a means of linking Tepeyac with Mexico City. Along it 15 quarry-stone shrines were built, to be dedicated to the 15 mysteries of the rosary.
