The story behind the icon
The name of this station comes from its standing on the avenue that bears the same name.
José Loreto Fabela was the engineer put in charge of the works to reforest the drained area of Lake Texcoco, by order of President Lázaro Cárdenas. The intention was to provide the community with a worthy space for recreation and to improve the environmental quality of the area. Today this area is known as the Bosque de Aragón.
The station icon represents the growth of plants thanks to the hand of man, in this case thanks to José Loreto Fabela.
