General Ángel Vallejo was born in 1869. He entered the Military College on 15 January 1887; on finishing his studies he obtained the rank of lieutenant of the General Staff and later that of colonel, in which he served as deputy head of the Cavalry Department of the Ministry of War and Navy and held the post of director of the military school for cadets, at Tlalpan.

The events of the Ten Tragic Days resulted in the uprising of Venustiano Carranza. The provisional constitutionalist government decided to create a military school, and so brigadier general of the General Staff Ángel Vallejo was appointed to found the Academy of the General Staff, as it was temporarily called; later it was given the name Military College. Vallejo is today one of the most important industrial areas of the Federal District, in the north-west of the city, and its name was taken to identify the station.
