The story behind the icon
The station icon represents the moon.
The name of the station is taken from Avenida Tasqueña, which lies near its premises; it is so called in homage to the feminine beauty native to Taxco.
Taxco is the name of the place distinguished by its silver deposits, in the state of Guerrero. Before the conquest the town was inhabited by Nahuas mixed with Chontals, Mazatecs and Tarascans; centuries later, in 1532, the Spanish magistrates and the chief mayors of Tlalpan, Zacatula, Iguala, Chilapa and Acapulco arrived.
Taxco is famous for its silverware industry, in which the silversmiths weave true filigree from the metal, along with all kinds of ornaments and objects of silver.
