The story behind the icon
The station icon represents the garland of honour and the kepi, the military dress of the cadets of the Military College.
History tells that on 13 September 1847 the Boy Heroes gave their lives defending the fatherland from the North American forces.
Juan de la Barrera was born in Mexico City on 2 July 1828 and died at the age of 19. Vicente Suárez opened his eyes to life in Puebla on 21 May 1832, and at 17 he lost his life. Juan Escutia was born in Nayarit on 22 February 1827 and died at 20.
Agustín Melgar began his life in Chihuahua on 20 August 1829 and died at the age of 18. Fernando Montes de Oca was born in Azcapotzalco in the year 1829 and died at 18. Francisco Márquez was born in Guadalajara and died at the age of 14.
