The story behind the icon
The station silhouette is a stork, symbolically linked with the name Eugenia, which means the well-born one.
The station is on Eje 1 Poniente (Avenida Cuauhtémoc), between Concepción Beistegui street and Eje 5 Sur, Avenida Eugenia, in the borough of Benito Juárez.
Eugenia was a lady distinguished by her love for her fellows and by her works for the good of the community. She was the owner of the old Quinta Eugenia, between Avenida Coyoacán and the avenue that today bears her name. Between 1920 and 1924 the streets of the area were given names, and so Avenida Eugenia became official, since the Quinta Eugenia stood there.
