The story behind the icon
The icon of Autobuses del Norte station is the silhouette of an intercity coach. The J. Guadalupe López Velarde central coach terminal, better known as Autobuses del Norte, was inaugurated on 13 December 1973; Mexican road hauliers carried out the construction of this building and its facilities for the service of Mexico City. It has an area of 100,508 square metres and a total built area of 69,108 square metres. The investment was 120 million pesos.
The Central del Norte terminal covers 27 states of the national territory, such as Aguascalientes, Baja California Norte, Chihuahua, Coahuila, the Federal District, Durango, Guanajuato, Guerrero, Nayarit, Nuevo León, Oaxaca, Puebla, Querétaro, San Luis, Sinaloa, Sonora, Michoacán, Tamaulipas, Veracruz and Zacatecas, among other destinations.
