The story behind the icon
The station silhouette is a water well. Atlalilco is a Nahuatl word meaning where the water is held.
Unfortunately there is no information about this place; it is only known that before the formation of the present political borough, Iztapalapa was divided into two areas: Zomulco and Atlalilco. They may have been two towns, as were Culhuacán, Iztapalapa, Acatitla, Mexicaltzingo and others, but with the passing of the years the towns became urban neighbourhoods and both the location and the name were lost, along with the recollection, the memory and the history of these places.
