The story behind the icon

It stands at Avenida Chimalhuacán, corner of Avenida Francisco Zarco, and takes its name from the nearby Tamaulipas Sección Virgencitas neighbourhood. Its symbol represents the image of the Virgin, holding a child in her arms.

Besides the regular (Ordinario) service, Line 3 (Chimalhuacán – Pantitlán) runs four Express services that skip stations: Express 1 (Acuitlapilco – Pantitlán, 13 stops, 37 min, daily), Express 2 (Chimalhuacán – Pantitlán, 8 stops, 40 min, Monday to Saturday), Express 3 (Rayito de Sol – Pantitlán, 8 stops, 22 min, Monday to Friday) and Express Rosa (Chimalhuacán – Pantitlán, 10 stops, 40 min, Monday to Saturday), which is for women only. They all use the same platforms as the regular service, so you can switch service at any shared station.
