The story behind the icon

The station icon represents a two-coloured circle divided in half; it refers to the signage of the Eje Central created by the former Department of the Federal District. The station takes its name from its position in the Doctores neighbourhood and on Avenida Eje Central Lázaro Cárdenas. The purpose of this thoroughfare is to create a sagittal line for the city's axis roads, built in the seventies. Traffic flows exclusively from south to north, crossing practically through the centre of the city. It has one lane (at the edge) for public transport in the opposite direction, made up of the trolleybuses.
