The story behind the icon
The station takes its name from its position on the Calzada de los Misterios.
The causeway was built in colonial times as a means of linking Tepeyac with Mexico City. Along it 15 quarry-stone shrines were built, to be dedicated to the 15 mysteries of the rosary. The icon is the same as that of the Metro station.
