The story behind the icon
The station icon is a portal (an arch crowning an entrance).
In the first years of the 20th century, in the area occupied by what is now the station, there were several haciendas that Emiliano Zapata parcelled out in his eagerness to distribute the land.
The most curious and notable thing was the number of kilns raised all over that area for firing bricks, giving the place a characteristic stamp, so that in time it came to be known as La Ladrillera, the brickworks.
La Ladrillera stood on a street called Del Tabique, where, being the main one, there were some large portals made of brick. From there comes the name of the area.
