The story behind the icon
The station image represents the flag of Mexico, one of the national symbols by which we identify ourselves as Mexicans.
The flag came about after the triumph of the war of Independence. From pre-Hispanic times standards were used that represented the different cultures, such as those of the Mexica or the Tlaxcaltecs, and also armies or districts or camps and calpullis. These emblems were full of colour and were decorated with ornaments of gold and the feathers of birds as beautiful as the quetzal.
