The story behind the icon
The station image represents the structure of what was the dome of the Toreo de Cuatro Caminos.
In the Nahuatl language the words Nauh Campa mean towards the four directions. It is believed that in front of the present Military School of Signals stood the Nauh Campa, since in pre-Hispanic times the roads leading to those four directions crossed there: to the north towards Azcapotzalco, to the south to Chapultepec, to the west towards Naucalpan and to the east leading to Tenochtitlan.
The Aztecs were specialists in making causeways or roads leading in four different directions, like the great square of Tenochtitlan, from which four roads set out leading to the north to Tlatelolco, to the south to Coyoacán and Iztapalapa, to the east to Lake Texcoco and to the west to Tlacopan or Tacuba.
