The story behind the icon
The station image represents the constitutions drawn up and signed in the years 1824, 1857 and 1917. On the death of Francisco I. Madero, the then governor of Coahuila, Venustiano Carranza, refused to recognise General Victoriano Huerta, who had usurped the Presidency of the Republic, thus beginning the stage of the revolution known as the constitutionalist one, since its main aim was to restore order by means of a new Constitution. On 20 November 1916 the preparatory meetings of the Congress began, which were to lay down the bases for the new Constitution; on 31 January 1917 it was signed, to be promulgated on 5 February of that same year. In this document rest the legal bases and laws that govern and rule the organisation of the Mexican Republic.
