The story behind the icon
Along Avenida Eduardo Molina ran the old Santa Coleta river, before it was piped and turned into an avenue. In the time of Porfirio Díaz the new slaughterhouse was inaugurated on that avenue on 15 February 1905, known as the Old Slaughterhouse.
