The story behind the icon
The station icon represents several icons, among them that of the Xochimilco borough and that of the entrance to a doorway or gateway of a trajinera. The word Xochimilco is Nahuatl: xochi, flower, mil, tilled land, and co, a postposition of place, commonly translated as the seedbed of flowers.
